NEET-UG

 NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2020 (NEET (UG) - 2020) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental & other Colleges/ Institutes in India.

General Instructions

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) - 2020 will be conducted as per the regulations of the National Medical Commission Act-2019, Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and the Dentists Act-1948 and other relevant and applicable Acts, as amended from time to time.

• Merely appearing and qualifying in NEET (UG) - 2020 does not confer any right to the candidate for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses. The selection and admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses seats in any Medical Institution recognized for offering Undergraduate Medical Courses is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in merit list, medical fitness and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the Government of India, respective States, Universities, Institutions and Medical/Dental/Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani/Homeopathy Colleges.

• Applications of candidates submitting false and fabricated information will be rejected and such candidates will be further debarred from appearing in examinations conducted by NTA. Such candidates will also be prosecuted under applicable laws for criminal offence and suitably punished.

• Incomplete application and applications not in accordance with instructions are liable to be rejected without any further intimation.

• The examination fee once deposited will not be refunded. Fee will neither be carried forward to a future examination nor refunded.

• Applications once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Candidates must note that mere deduction of fee from the bank account is not a proof of fee payment. The payment should be supported by fee payment and generation of Confirmation Page.

• Instructions in the Information Bulletin may change /be updated based on decisions taken by the NTA and other authorities from time to time. Candidates are advised to regularly check the website ntaneet.nic.in for any further updates or information.

• NTA reserves the right to withdraw permission, granted inadvertently if any, to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the NEET (UG) - 2020 even though the Admit Card have been issued by the NTA.

• Candidate’s eligibility for NEET (UG) - 2020 is purely provisional and is subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria prescribed by the MoH&FW/MCI/NMC/DCI/NTA/MCC/ MoA/AACCC/CCIM/BoGCCH /other admitting Institutions as applicable.

• In case of any ambiguity in interpretation of any of the instructions/ terms/ rules/criteria regarding determination of eligibility/conduct of examination/ registration of candidates/information contained therein, the interpretation of the MoH&FW/MCI/NMC/DCI/NTA/MCC/other admitting Institution as applicable shall be final and binding.

• The conduct of NEET (UG) - 2020 Examination would be videographed. The candidates are required to keep their head in upright position and face the camera during the videography so that their identity could be clearly established. The candidates should agree to the videography during the examination.


Important Note:

 I. Each question carries 04 (four) marks. 

II. For each correct answer/best option, candidate will get 04 (four) marks. 

III. For each incorrect answer, 01(one) mark will be deducted from the total score. 

IV. To answer a question, the candidate has to find, for each question, the correct answer/ best option.

 V. However, after the process of challenge of key, if more than one option is found to be correct then all/any one of the multiple correct/best options marked will be given four marks (+4). Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1). Unanswered/Unattempted questions will be given no marks. In case, a question is dropped/ ignored, all candidates will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.


Mode of Examination

NEET (UG) – 2020 is a Pen & Paper-based test, to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen.

 Duration of Test

The duration of test would be three (03) hours.

Medium of the Question Papers: -

Option of medium of Question Paper should be carefully chosen while filling in the Application Form. The option once chosen cannot be changed.

 Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only.

Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi.

Candidates opting for Regional languages would also be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in selected Regional language and English.

 In case of any ambiguity in translation of a question in the test, its English version shall be treated as final and the decision of NTA shall be final in this regard.
